Submission of Abstracts




Submission Deadline: The deadline for submission of abstracts is Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 5:00 pm Egyptian time.
This deadline will be strictly enforced and no exceptions will be made.
No submissions, modifications or corrections will be accepted after September 25, so please proofread your abstract carefully prior to submission.
Publication:
All abstracts submitted, regardless of whether they are selected for
oral or poster presentation will be published in a special supplement
to the December 2010 (a special issue) of the: Al-Azhar Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciencesexactly as you submit it.
ABSTRACT GUIDELINES
Format:


We will only be accepted MS Word files. If you are submitting a MAC version, please submit as PC compatible.

Size

The full abstract should be no longer than one A4 page; with margins of 2.54cm.

Font

Times New Roman; text size 12 unless otherwise specified.

Title

Type the title of your abstract in all CAPITALS and bold, font size 14, centred.

Authors

First name and Surname of each author, bold, font size 12, centred. Presenting author’s name to be underlined.

Affiliations

Name
of department and institution, font size 12, bold, centred. Include
affiliation of all co-authors if different from the presenting author.
Preceding each address with the corresponding superscripted number.

Text

Single line spacing and full justification.

Paragraphs

Begin each new paragraph with a single indent on the first line. Do not leave lines between paragraphs.

Headings

These should be in bold, font size 12, each on a separate line and should not be indented.

References

Optional

Acknowledgements

Heading-bold, size 12. Optional to include.




Suggestions for Quality:
1. Abstract must be written in English.
2. Title should be short and informative, with a maximum length of two lines.
3. All abstracts will undergo a peer review process prior to acceptance, and may be edited, returned
for editing or refused.

Poster Guidelines:
For each poster session, Author(s) should be available during that time
to answer questions, expand on the material and take part in
discussions. The following guidelines have been adopted.


  1. Abstracts
    scheduled for poster session presentation will be grouped by topic. You
    will be notified of your session and time via email. Also check the
    meeting program onsite.
  2. Set-up time will be Saturday, November 27th (from 8 am to 10 am) and Sunday, November 28th (from 8 am to 10 am)
  3. Posters
    should be mounted on assigned boards. Locate your poster number in the
    meeting program. Your poster number will be posted on your board prior
    to setup.
  4. Poster size is 70 cm (tall) x 100
    cm (wide). There will be two posters per side. Larger posters may not
    overlap others. Failure to extend courtesy to other presenters may
    result in removal of a poster.
  5. A copy of your
    abstract in large type should be posted if space permits. Availability
    of hand-out materials and photocopies of the abstract are helpful.
  6. Type
    should be easily legible at a distance of several feet. Figure legends
    are essential and should be short but informative. Please do not write,
    draw or paste on the poster boards.
  7. The Poster Session is located in the conference lobby area.
  8. Authors
    are responsible for bringing their own display materials (i.e. double
    stick tape or Velcro tabs) to mount and set up posters. Note: Push pins do not work on these poster boards.
  9. Poster
    take down time is 5-6 pm on Saturday and Sunday, November 27th and
    28th. Any posters remaining after 6 pm may be discarded. The Conference
    secretaries are not responsible for posters not removed by presenters.
  10. The number of posters that can be presented may be limited by available space. Early submission is advised.



Oral presentations
Oral presentations will only be considered after your abstract has been
submitted and approved by the Scientific Committee. On your abstract
form, please mark oral presentations if you wish to be considered for
an oral presentation. Otherwise, your research will only be considered
for a poster session. Shortly after the abstract closure date (Sep.16, 2010), a member of the Committee will notify the selected individuals chosen to present at the 2010 Al-Azhar 6th International Conference for Pharmaceutical and Biological Sciencesalong with the time, date, and symposia number for their presentation.
Audio Visual Requirements and Availability
All panel presentations should be made using PC compatible software and saved on a data stick.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF ABSTRACT PRESENTERS
1. Presenter
will be the contact person for all correspondence about the abstract
and will keep co-authors informed about its status.
2. Presenter
must complete and sign the registration form on behalf of all the
co-authors. The submission process is not complete until this has been
done. Abstracts received without a properly completed and signed
registration will not be considered.
3. Presenter accepts responsibility regarding Publication and Conference Regulations.
4. Expenses associated with the submission and presentation of an abstract are the responsibility of the presenter.
5.
All information submitted with the abstract must be FINAL. No revisions
will be made to submitted abstracts and presenter and author
information will not be changed.
6. Abstracts will be assessed according to relevance and scientific merit.
7. Conference registration is required for all poster presenters.
8.
Research that has been published or presented at any national or
international meeting prior to this conference is discouraged.
Best Oral and Poster Award
· Five oral and posters will be selected for the Best oral or Poster presentations Award 2010.
· The prize consists of free registration to Al-Azhar 7th International Conference for Pharmaceutical
and Biological Sciences 2012.
Abstract Policies & Regulations
With the submission of an abstract to Al-Azhar 6th International Conference for Pharmaceutical
and Biological Sciences, the (presenting author):
· Accepts responsibility for the accuracy of the submitted abstract.
· Confirms that all authors are aware of and agree to the content of the abstract and support the data presented.
· Warrants that the data and conclusions presented in the abstract have
not been published in the same format and with the same title prior to
the date of the conference.
· Identifies any financial interest in products or processes described
in the abstract. This information is to be forwarded to the Scientific
Committee together with the abstract.
· Gives permission for the abstract, when selected for presentation (oral or poster), to be published.
Please note that abstracts will only be published if the author is registered participant and full payment has been received.
Abstract Selection Process
The Scientific Committee will make the selection of abstracts for oral
and poster presentations in September 2010. By beginning of October
2010, the presenting author will receive an e-mail with the result of
the review and the Scientific Committee’s decision on the abstract.
Payment
Full payment should be received before the corresponding deadline.

Confirmation of Individual Registration
A personalised confirmation E-mail will be sent to each participant
once payment of the registration fee has been received in the
Conference’s bank account.
Approximately two weeks before the start of the Conference, each
confirmed participant will receive an additional e-mail containing
important logistical information about the Conference.
Cancellation policy
Cancellation of registration should be notified in writing to the Congress Secretariat.
Any refunds will be paid as soon as practicable.
· Cancellation received up to 15 September 2010 and full refund except bank charges will be made.
· Cancellation received up to 20 October 2010 - 50% refund will be made.
· Cancellation received after 20 October 2010 - no refunds will be made.

After the Conference, presenters are highly encouraged to submit a full paper for publication in Al-Azhar Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
